Within the Haringey London Borough, Harringay (pronounced /ˈh rɪŋɡeɪ/ HARR-ing-gay) is a north London district. Formed by East Coast Main Line is the western boundary of Harringay. Forms the south western boundary, Finsbury Park is part of Harringay.

To the north is 'Woodlands Park', to Sainsbury's and 'The Gardens' south is 'Warehouse District' of Harringay. To the north of the old Harringay House, Stonebridge Brook ran above ground meandering eastwards. Harringay experienced pressures of the burgeoning population in London from 1750 to 1880.

With the land built over, Harringay had become a suburb of outer London that was respectable by 1900 and Finsbury Park remaining as a hint of its former character. As Haringey London Borough, brought, under the control of a single unit of local governance, all Harringay for the first time in more than a thousand years, from 1900, Harringay, identified as a single unified urban area, was split between the Tottenham and Hornsey old boroughs with the between boundary running slightly to the west of Green Lanes The unification of the two boroughs in 1965.

Derived from Haering, a Saxon chieftain's name, the name Harringay has origin in the Saxon period. Harringay became a destination for Londoners seeking to relax from 1750 until second half of the 20th century. Defined the present-day Harringay's boundary that is southern, the subsequent construction of the Tottenham & Hampstead Junction Railway (THJR).

For the Harringay Stadium held sporting events and from the late 1920s, the Harringay Arena until the 1980s, Harringay became nationally and internationally famous. Along the southern boundary of the western part of Harringay, Hermitage Brook flowed roughly and, staying close to its southern edge, under where the Arena Shopping Park stands today.

Hugely popular leisure destinations in their day were Finsbury Park, Hornsey Wood House, Harringay Arena, and Harringay Stadium. To visit the ever-growing popular restaurants, bars, festivals and live music venues, Harringay in the 21st century continues to attract from across London and beyond visitors. Home to the London Meteors is Harringay who are at the Green Lanes and Endymion Road corner in the former Finsbury Park cricket pitch.
